The Committee recommends that the President be authorized to solicit and accept a renewal grant from the National Institutes of Health for a research project entitled Biology of Down's Syndrome, under the direction of Charles J. Epstein, M.D., Professor of Pediatrics and Biochemistry, School of Medicine, San Francisco campus, in the approximate amount of $6.6 million during a period of five years commencing August 1, 1988, and to solicit and accept any subsequent amendments, modifications, or renewals thereto, provided the general intent and purpose of the project remain unchanged from those originally approved by The Regents.
