Effective immediately, as Chancellor of the Los Angeles campus you are authorized to execute all necessary documents to complete the grant application process for applying for funds for earthquake assistance under the Federal Emergency Management Act (FEMA). This authorization is only for the specific purpose of executing necessary documents for FEMA assistance for earthquake damage recently experienced by the campus, and this authorization is obsolete upon completion of the execution of all such documents and the transfer of funds to the University.
A critical factor in processing grant documents is the review for legal sufficiency, and the advice of the General Counsel and Vice President for Legal Affairs shall be obtained. Responsibility for accomplishing such legal review must be assigned specifically as a part of any redelegation by you.
Any redelegation of this authority shall be in writing with copies to the Senior Vice
President--Business and Finance, the Special Assistant--Coordination & Review, and the
General Counsel and Vice President for Legal Affairs.
