Delegation of Authority--Establishment of Departments or Their Equivalents
The attached Policy on Establishment of Academic Instructional Units, issued March 5, 1971, provides in pertinent part as follows:
...The Chancellor, with the advice of the Divisional Academic Senate Committees..., and the Graduate Council, reviews the proposal and, if he approves, transmits the entire file with his recommendations to the President. After review, the President may approve the proposal, inform The Regents of this action, and authorize the Chancellor to establish the department or division within the school or college.
Effective immediately, the President's above authority for final approval is delegated to you, subject to appropriate review and endorsement by the campus administration and by the divisional Academic Senate, as stated in the attached Policy.
This authority may not be redelegated.
