Delegation of Authority--The High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (HESSI), Berkeley Campus

Pursuant to the President's authority in Standing Order 100.4(dd) a new proposal was submitted on February 18, 1998 to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in the amount of $43,108,837 for a period of five years commencing March 1, 1998 for a project entitled The High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (HESSI), Berkeley campus.

Effective immediately, as Chancellor of the Berkeley campus, you are authorized to execute the initial award and to solicit and execute any amendments, modifications, or renewals subsequent to the initial award provided the general intent and purpose of the program remain unchanged from those originally approved.

Any redelegation of this authority shall be in writing, with copies to the Senior Vice President--Business and Finance, the Special Assistant--Coordination & Review, and the General Counsel and Vice President for Legal Affairs.
