Delegation of Authority--Surplus Real Property Obtained from the Department of Health and Human Services
Each time the University wishes to apply for surplus real properties made available through the Department of Health and Human Services, The Regents authorize the President to make such application by adoption of a Resolution which states in part:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that The Regents of the University of California has legal authority, is willing and in a position financially and otherwise to assume immediate care and maintenance of the property, and that the President of the University of California or his designee, be and he is hereby authorized, for and on behalf of The Regents of the University of California, to do and perform any and all acts and things which may be necessary to prepare, make, and file plans, applications, reports, and other documents, including representations and commitments regarding use and time within which such use shall commence and the payment of any and all sums necessary on account of the purchase price thereof or on account of fees or costs incurred in connection with the transfer of said property for surveys, title searches, appraisals, recordation of instruments, escrow costs, or any payments by virtue of nonuse or deferral of use of this property; . . .
Effective immediately, as Vice President--Budget and University Relations, the authority assigned to the President in the above regard is delegated to you, following authorization by The Regents in each instance. This authority may not be redelegated. This supersedes the January 13, 1981 delegation to you as Assistant Vice President.
