Delegation of Authority--Approval of Change in Name of an Academic Department
The attached Policy on Change in Name of an Academic Department, issued October 30, 1972, authorizes Chancellors to establish procedures that include provisions for preliminary review by appropriate divisional Academic Senate committees for initiation of name changes of their campus academic departments. After campus review, a recommendation for a name change is forwarded by the Chancellor to the Vice President--Academic Affairs (now Provost and Senior Vice President--Academic Affairs) for review and recommendation to the President for final action.
Effective immediately, the President's above authority for final action is delegated to you,
subject to appropriate review and endorsement by the campus administration and by the appropriate
divisional Academic Senate, as stated in the attached Policy.
This authority may not be redelegated.
