January 14, 1985
CHANCELLORS
VICE PRESIDENT--AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES
Delegation of Authority--Agreements Pertaining to Purchase of Utilities Commodities and Services
At the November 16, 1984 meeting, The Regents approved deletion of Subsection (9) of Standing Order 100.4(dd), which required that utility agreements exceeding $100,000 per year be authorized by The Regents. The effect of that change is to authorize execution of all such utility agreements by the President under Standing Order 100.4 (dd), which provides in part as follows:
100.4 Duties of the President of the University.
(dd) Except as otherwise specifically provided in the Bylaws and Standing Orders, the President is authorized to execute on behalf of the Corporation all contracts and other documents necessary in the exercise of the President's duties...
Effective immediately, the authority granted to the President in Section 100.4 (dd) of the Standing Orders of The Regents to enter into and to execute agreements pertaining to purchase of utilities commodities and services is delegated to you for your area of responsibility. Any redelegation of this authority shall be in writing with copies to the Vice President--Budget and University Relations and the Director--Coordination and Review.
This supersedes Vice President Fretter's letter of January 13, 1981 to Assistant Vice President Baker regarding Utility Agreements.
