MEMBERS, PRESIDENT'S CABINET
PRINCIPAL OFFICERS OF THE REGENTS
Authority to Act for the President
To ensure that the University always has in the Office of the President an Officer with authority to act on necessary matters, Standing Order of The Regents 100.4, Duties of the President of the University, provides in (a) as follows:
...The President may delegate any of the duties of the office except service as an ex officio Regent.
Further, Standing Order 100.5 was amended in January 1985 to provide in (a) as follows:
Senior Vice Presidents shall perform such duties of the President of the University as the President shall designate. In the event of the unavailability or inability of the President to act, Senior Vice Presidents shall have and exercise all the duties and powers of the President, other than service as a Regent, in such order and to such extent as the President shall designate.
This is to affirm that in my absence or in case of my inability to act, William R. Frazer, Senior Vice President--Academic Affairs, is authorized to act for me in the exercise of the President's duties other than service as an ex officio Regent. When both Vice President Frazer and I are absent, Ronald W. Brady, Senior Vice President--Administration, is empowered to act for me.
This supersedes my letter to you of April 23, 1984 on this same subject.
